“I want this salad for our wedding.” that’s what popped first in my mind when I  first ate that salad. It was wedding season and Antje and me were planning our wedding. It is ridicilous yummy and everybody enjoyed it.

Figs & Mozzarella Salad

Figs are grown in Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, Mexcio, California and same parts in Africa and Asia (apologies, if I forgot something). Depending on the region, season is …puh….let’s say … summer! The fig usually depends on the “wasp” Blastophaga psenes to be pollinated. But nowadays, figs are like bananas, self-pollinated.   • Figs – 4 figs
  • Mozzarella – 1 package fresh mozzarella
  • Basil – bunch basil
  • Olive oil –
  • Balsamic vinegar –
  • Salt and Pepper –


  1. This salad is accomplished in less than 10min! Quarter the figs, slice the mozzarella and make a nice arrangement, add leaves of fresh basil, sprinkle some olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper over the dish. Maybe add some toasted bread. Enjoy!
