Simplicity can sometimes be epic. Especially when it involves a fresh slab of multi-grain sour dough from, Wide Awake Bakery, toasted, lathered with butter and drizzled with honey fresh from Steve Sherwood and Myriam Paredes farm on Mt. Ilalo in Ecuador! Fresh off the plane that is, though likely freshly harvested as well. Thank goodness for colleagues who work in international agriculture, and friends in far places who remember that winter is quickly dawning on Ithaca, and the bees and scent of flowers is quickly dissolving with the leaves outside my front porch.

Simple, sweet, satisfying. Good midnight snack. Good morning breakfast. Good afternoon energy kick. Good all around.
